Photographer My name is Gabriela “Gabby”. I am in the 9th grade and I’m an ELC student. What I like to do in my free time is spend time with my family and go out to the movies, hangout with friends, and just have fun. I joined the GBLA club because I know that my team and I can help support a lot of young women out there in our community.

My name is Marilynn Urgel and I am a 9th grader. What I do in my free time is read, help others, and hang out with friends. I was very intrigued when I heard about GBLA from my teacher. I feel like people aren't very aware of STEM and how important it is in our everyday life.

My name is Priscilla and I am a 9th grader at Elizabeth Learning Center. In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, reading, and playing video games. I decided to join GBLA because my teacher mentioned it. I find STEM very interesting, since it includes my favorite subjects. Therefore I joined, as well as because I thought it would be a great way to open up more and help out others.

Our Coordinator
Hello! My name is Elizabeth Saenz Soto and I am a 6th-12th grade English Language Arts (ELA) and English Language Development (ELD) educator. I have been at Elizabeth Learning Center (ELC) for four years now. I have been married for over 20 years and have three biological children of my own. Our two girls are at a local university and our son is now in middle school. The reason behind wanting to be a GBLA coordinator is because I saw this as an opportunity to inspire my own female students in STEM careers and help promote female college awareness not only to my students but as a whole community. These young women (and men) ARE our future and they need to know the opportunities out there that they can strive for and obtain in order to be productive members of society.
